Gender-based violence: Launch of a hotline in The Gambia

On 30 June 2020, a toll-free number, 13 13, was launched in The Gambia to provide assistance to women victims of gender-based violence. The launch was attended by the Minister of Women's Affairs and the First Lady of The Gambia.

This hotline is the result of a partnership between ENDA Santé and Paradise Foundation, in the framework of the FEVE Programme. The project "Breaking the culture of silence and creating an enabling environment for Gender-based Violence (GBV) survivors", implemented by Paradise Foundation, is financed through the Innovation and Impulse Fund (F2I) of FEVE.  

This fund aims to support innovative and promising initiatives in West Africa. It is financed by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

From 15 to 16 November 2019, ENDA Health took part in the global dialogue with indigenous peoples and local communities on the IPBES assessment on invasive alien species in Montreal. The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is an independent intergovernmental body, established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Bank.
