ReCCAP Project: Training of 20 local actors on local mapping of HIV/AIDS vulnerability dynamics - CARTOLOC

ENDA Santé is organising in Ziguinchor the second national training workshop on the local mapping of the dynamics of HIV/AIDS vulnerability - CARTOLOC. This training involves 20 local actors in the response to HIV, from Dakar, Louga, Kolda, Saint-Louis, Thiès and Ziguinchor, from the government sector, society and associations. The aim is to strengthen their skills in tools for locating and estimating the size of populations most vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.

The training is provided by the referent trainers previously trained at the regional training of trainers workshop on local mapping of HIV vulnerability dynamics in June 2021.

The workshop is one of the flagship activities of the project on capacity building and capitalisation of experiences for a better management of HIV among populations most vulnerable to HIV/AIDS in West Africa (ReCCAP). Funded by Expertise France - the Initiative, the project operates in 4 countries: Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Guinea and Senegal and has achieved the following results:

  • 46 referent trainers were trained in 7 West African countries (Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Gambia, Mali, Niger and Senegal);
  • 140 local actors in the response to HIV were trained in Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Guinea and Senegal;
  • 80 community actors trained on continuity of HIV care in the COVID-19 context in the 4 countries where the project is implemented.
  • Programmatic mapping is underway in Guinea Bissau, Guinea and Senegal.
