As part of its IWRM II/health programme, in partnership with OMVS, the Ministry of Health and Social Action (Division de Lutte contre la Maladie), Enda Santé held a workshop on the manual tabulation of data from the LQAS 2021 survey.
During this work, the results of the programme were presented, showing a 90% coverage rate of LLINs in the 0-59 month age group. In addition, it was found that :
- 71% of households sleep on LLINs;
- 50% of school-age children know about Bilharzia prevention measures;
- 81% of adults aged 15 years are aware of the modes of transmission of Geo helminthiases;
- 73% of adults are aware of preventive measures against onchocerciasis.
These results reflect the efforts made through the implementation of IEC/BCC activities for the prevention of Neglected Tropical Diseases and malaria in community and school settings in the areas covered by PGIRE (Saint-Louis, Matam, Louga, Tambacounda, Kédougou).
