General Assembly of the Climate Change Platform

Within the framework of the Senegal programme of Horizont3000, Enda Santé participated on 6 and 7 December in Kaolack in a training workshop on the roles and responsibilities of the commissions and the executive board of the platform on climate change. This meeting brought together the local coordination committees of the platform and the programme's partners.

The Senegal programme of Horizont3000, which is entering its third phase, aims to give greater prominence to the challenges of climate change and the vulnerability of family farming systems in the intervention areas. Thus, at the end of an important workshop on climate change and agriculture held in 2015, the stakeholder groups deemed it relevant to set up a platform for reflection and exchange on the issue of climate change.

The process of setting up a platform was launched in October 2016 during a workshop held in Dakar and the holding of local general assemblies in the different intervention zones of the programme's partners. In this sense, a steering committee was set up with an executive board and commissions such as the communication and scientific commissions.

The workshop was also an opportunity to deepen the reflection on the establishment of the steering committee of the national platform as decided in October 2018.
