4th meeting of the Regional Steering Committee of the FEVE programme

On Thursday 28 January 2021, the fourth meeting of the Regional Steering Committee (RSC) of the FEVE programme was held in virtual form. This meeting brought together forty-one (41) partners from the FEVE implementing countries and the regional strategic partners.

The meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of the 2016-2020 implementation and to discuss structural challenges related to the context of interventions in West Africa such as the health crisis linked to the COVID epidemic and the security crisis in certain areas of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.

The contributions to this TRC made it possible to address the resilience and innovation dimension of the programme. In her intervention, Mrs Hélène BADINI, representative of the UNAIDS regional office, "encouraged the implementing organisations to continue their efforts, which are already very satisfactory in view of the results obtained". She also recalled that the FEVE programme is one of the projects that UNAIDS calls "innovative" because the project "has innovated in terms of targets but also in terms of continuity of interventions during this difficult period.
